Remove duplicates from Excel and CSV
Duplicate rows creep in when lists are merged or exported twice. This tool removes duplicate rows from Excel and CSV files and shows exactly which rows are repeats (highlighted in red) before you download. Compare whole rows, or only key columns: for example, treat two contacts with the same email address as duplicates even if their names are spelled differently.
How to remove duplicate rows
- Drop your spreadsheet onto the box. If it has several sheets, choose one at the top.
- Under A row is a duplicate when these match, tick the columns to compare. Leave all ticked to compare whole rows; tick just “Email” to find people listed twice.
- Keep Ignore capitals and Ignore extra spaces ticked so “John@Mail.com ” and “john@mail.com” count as the same.
- Check the red rows in the preview: they'll be removed.
- Click Download cleaned file, or Download only the duplicates to review them separately.
Questions
Which copy is kept?
The first one, unless you choose “the last copy”. Rows keep their original order.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The file is cleaned in your browser, so customer lists and private data stay on your computer.
