Make a karaoke track from any song
Most songs are mixed with the lead singer in the center of the stereo picture, and instruments spread to the left and right. This vocal remover cancels what's in the center to make a karaoke or backing track, while keeping the bass and kick drum so the music still has its punch. Choose Lower vocals to keep a quiet guide vocal for singing along.
How well it works depends on the mix: studio pop, country and worship songs usually work well; live recordings, mono songs, and vocals with heavy stereo reverb leave some voice behind. Preview first. It all runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Questions
Why can I still hear some of the voice?
Echo and reverb on the voice are often spread left and right, so they can't be cancelled. Some songs also double the vocal off-center. Try “Lower vocals” for a more natural result.
Why did some instruments disappear too?
Anything mixed exactly in the center (often the snare or a solo instrument) is reduced with the voice. Raising the bass setting brings back more of the low end.
