Compress images without visible quality loss
Big photos are slow to email, upload and load on websites. This image compressor makes JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC pictures much smaller, often 70–90% smaller, while keeping them looking the same. Compress many images at once, see exactly how much each one shrank, and drag the slider to compare before and after.
Need a picture under a size limit for a form or job application? Choose Target size and type the limit in KB (for example 200 KB or 1 MB = 1000 KB); each picture is squeezed until it fits.
How to compress pictures
- Drop your pictures onto the box, or click it to choose them.
- Pick a level. Balanced suits almost everything; Strong is for the smallest files; Target size keeps every picture under a limit you set.
- Optional: under More options, choose the format and a maximum size. Shrinking a 4000-pixel phone photo to 1920 pixels saves the most space and still looks sharp on any screen.
- Click Compress pictures. Each file shows its new size; drag the slider under “Before and after” to compare.
- Click Download. Several pictures come as one ZIP.
Questions
How do I reduce a photo to under 100 KB?
Choose “Target size”, type 100, and compress. If the picture is very large, also limit its size to 1280 or 800 pixels under More options.
Why did my PNG get bigger?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so photos saved as PNG are big. Choose JPG or WebP for photos; keep PNG for logos and screenshots with transparency.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Compression happens on your own device, so your pictures stay private and it works even on a slow connection.
