    Which format should I choose?

    • JPG: photos. Small files that open everywhere. No transparency.
    • PNG: logos, screenshots and graphics with sharp edges or a transparent background.
    • WebP: websites. Smaller than JPG at the same quality, and supports transparency.

    How do I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows?

    What happens to transparent backgrounds when converting to JPG?

    JPG can't be transparent, so see-through parts are filled with the background color you pick (white by default). Choose PNG or WebP to keep transparency.

    Does converting reduce quality?

    Converting to PNG keeps every pixel. JPG and WebP compress the picture; at quality 92 the difference is invisible to the eye.
