Add background music to a video

Give a holiday clip, a slideshow, a product video or a Reel a soundtrack. This tool adds music to a video in your browser: pick the song, choose where in the song to start (straight to the chorus, say), and decide whether to replace the original sound or keep it quietly under the music. The song can repeat to cover long videos and fades out neatly at the end.

The picture is copied exactly as it was, not re-encoded, so there's no loss of quality and saving takes seconds even for long videos.

How to add music to a video
  1. Drop your video on the left box and the song on the right one.
  2. Set the Music volume. Keep Original sound at 0 to replace it, or raise it to keep people's voices.
  3. To start from a later part of the song, type the seconds in Start the song at.
  4. Click Preview with music to watch it with the new sound.
  5. Click Save video with music.

Questions

Can I use any song?

Technically yes. For videos you post publicly, use music you have the rights to, or royalty-free music, so platforms don't mute your video.

Why is saving so fast?

Only the sound is rebuilt. The video frames are copied as they are, which also means the picture quality is untouched.
